1. For up gradation you will have to download the patch 13742915 from the Oracle site.
2. Once this is done place this patch folder in a location which has all the permissions to read and write. (I have placed it in the OBIEE_HOME\Oracle_BI1 location).
3. Once this is done then we are ready to start the process.
4. Basically the logic for applying of the patch is that you need a path that points to the Opatch location that is responsible for all the patch deployment in the 11G and we need to set up a session variable to do so because by this method we set up a variable that will be alive till the command prompt is active for the patch process only
Prerequisites
1. Login cmd as Administrator
2. Bring down all the opmn services and the database
Steps to be done in the command prompt( Make sure that you read the README file before doing the steps)
PS. If you do not do this you will face Erorr-22. Access denied to files and folders
2. Then once this is done navigate to the path where we have placed the patch
3. If you have already set the PATH Variable and it points to another location (database) and you do not want to change it. then use the command prompt to set a session bounded environment variable. Usually we set up the path variable as ORACLE_HOME.
4. Here we have to set up a path that points to the Opatch
5. After the step make sure that the patch is working by typing
opatch lsinventory
6. You can also test if the version of the patch is right by typing in
opatch version
7. If all the things are set then we can apply the patch
For 32 bit
opatch apply
For 64 bit
opatch apply -jre D:\FUSSION\Oracle_BI1\jdk\jre
8. After the prerequisite step they will ask for Y or N. Type Y and allow the process to complete .
9. Once you get a success message then inorder to check if the patch has been applied go to
C:\OBIEE_HOME\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation and check the file version
10. Restart the services and login into Analytics.
